ABOUT DAWN

General Information:

Age: 43
Gender : Female
Location: Kansas

Dawn Judd grew up in a small town in South Dakota. Her creative streak began early in life, with a love of all things artistic. She loved drawing and painting, and spent most of her school years in art classes. Poetry was another love, but one she kept to herself, with the exception of two of her favorites, which were later published in anthologies.
She stayed in South Dakota until she moved to Chicago at the age of twenty-one. She spent the next several years as a military wife, and moved from one state to the next until she found herself living in Kansas. It was there that she discovered the love of writing stories and wrote a handful of short stories for her own personal collection.
In 2007, she began work on Reining In, a story of the Network, an organization created to protect 5,000 year old vampire, Khalida. Although she didn't originally intend for it to be published, encouragement from friends, family and fellow authors convinced her to share it with the world. In 2009, Reining In was her first novel to be published. It was soon followed by Phantom Rising, a continuation of the Network saga.
Soon after, she founded the Breakout Books page on facebook, which was followed up by Breakout Books Reviews, a book review blog. She used both sites as a way to promote her fellow authors. Breakout Books has grown to over 700 members and is still holding strong.
